After a long and difficult search process, in which we went through four architects and three builders, we were delighted to finally find Mediterraneo. Their design/build approach works exceptionally well, and we cannot imagine a more thorough, dedicated, responsive, knowledgeable, ethical, flexible team than Mediterraneo. This was a complete tear down and rebuild designed and built by Mediterraneo. It features 5 bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms, a partial basement/guest bedroom, full office, mud room, detached garage, outdoor kitchen, high ceilings--and craftsman styling throughout. As this was the second major project this family had undertaken, they knew just what they wanted and so were very involved in the design of the project. A pragmatic and functional design yielded a beautiful, restrained home.

Mediterraneo Design Build, is a construction company in Menlo Park, California serving the Bay Area since 1991. Mediterraneo has built more than 150 new homes, major additions and remodels in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Atherton, Woodside, and Portola Valley. We are foremost a residential builder, but for years we’ve offered design services in-house. Working this closely with architects has given us insights and working methods few builders can duplicate. It's this point of difference—the design in our DNA—that enables us to understand a homeowner's vision and faithfully craft an architect's design. In the end, building a high-quality home is less about assembling materials than it is about joining people and drawing the best out of each of them.
